After successful completion of the course, students are able to reproduce and understand the basic concepts of natural conditions that are relevant for spatial planning topics and issues. They have a corresponding basic knowledge, which is supplemented in the context of the lecture with applied expert knowledge. This acquired knowledge relates to the central protected goods of the (natural) space:
- Pedosphere - soil
- Lithosphere - geology
- Hydrosphere - water
- Atmosphere - climate, urban climatology
- Biosphere - fauna, flora and connectivity
- Cultural and material goods
- Landscape and landscape image
The students are able to establish basic concepts, the connections to spatial planning topics as well as current topics of the natural area. In addition, the students gain insights into the legal situation of the protection, preservation and development of the natural space basics. This prepares the students for the practical needs for their (first) work experiences as spatial planners.
