After successful completion of the course, students are able to:
- basic skills for scientific working- urban planning analysis methods- aspects of "reading the city"- interpretation and discussion of urban planning concepts
The aim of the seminar is the examination of the relationship of high rise buildings and the European City. A growing number of cities in Europe has recently developed concepts for a high rise buildings in order to prevent uncontrolled development and to allow exchange of interest between developers, administrations and the common good. Current high rise concepts and high rise projects in Vienna and elsewhere will be analysed. What future roles could high rise buildings play in the European City?
