After successful completion of the course, students are able to respond to the following questions:
Exhibition concept for public space both outdoor and indoor (temporary vacancy, interim use), how can it succeed site-specifically?
Location staging, scenography, staging of local and cultural life - what is, what does that mean?
How can this work off the beaten track of the usual location marketing concepts?
Which qualities of the location can be drawn upon, what are the unique selling points?
What are the risks of "over-staging"?
Can the exhibition concept function as a presentation and interaction surface for process-related site development (e.g.: as a communication platform for the participatory development of flood protection)?
After an analytical approach on site, the insights gained are developed and elaborated into concepts and implementations.
Background
Since the summer semester 2015, three designs of the research area LANDSCAPE have been carried out in the market community of Ottensheim and in the Urfahr West region.
Outlook
In the summer semester 2020, the market town is to be worked on as an "exhibition site" in a further design. For the presentation of the concepts developed so far, a review "landscape@ottensheim", objects and scenarios are to be developed which can also be used for other presentations in the future, for example at the 2021 GUUTEN days in Ottensheim, a somewhat different form of a regional business fair.
