After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the correlation between tourism development and spatial planning challenges and can understand regulatory efforts.
They are able to compare different categories for nature and landscape protection and know their meaning and requirements. The students can grasp the effects of protected areas on tourist developments and have a basic understanding of the conflicts and potentials that are associated with them.
The students build up knowledge on topics relevant to tourism, for example natural hazards, right of way and liability. You can also understand vacancies and rural depopulation as engines for tourism development and can critically examine regional and cultural identity and their relationship to tourism.
The students are able to analyze sustainability aspects and know quality standards for nature based tourism.

Proof of performance in the module is provided by fulfilling the attendance requirement, appropriate cooperation and the preparation and presentation of short presentations on specific topics, as well as the development of a tourism concept (design project) on a topic of your choice with reference to the current main topic "Weinviertel". This work is to be carried out in small groups of 2-3 students each. There are therefore no examinations for the individual courses.
