The lecture deals with "short-term living" in different forms of housing, which were created by tourism. Teaching goal is the transfer of knowledge about the building types used by tourists as comprehensively as possible - always seen in connection with its respective environment. In particular, the focus is on building typology of resort hotels, vacation villages, tourist resorts, holiday centers and hotel cities.
Starting from a short presentation of the historical development of the genre resort hotel, on the one hand an overview should be given based on examples of selected international hotel projects, which are architecturally relevant for tourism. On the other hand analytical and practical skills in the form of planning notes are given, which are helpful for the architectural design and planning of buildings used by tourists.
