The central theme of the lecture is the image of the city, with a special emphasis on the public urban space, which is seen as a phenomenon of a spatial manifestation of a social order. Other themes included are the definition and theories of space and urbanity, urbanity as an effect of social and spatial conditions, and the investigation of contemporary urban fabric and the thematic of public, medial or virtual spaces. European and international phenomena of urban spaces with current tendencies and interactions are also tackled.

The lecture exhibits the interrelations between architecture and urban pattern as a result of city- image and theory in the context of social and spacial developments. Further, the lecture demonstrates the connection of space and society in particular, the urban space as a reflection of accelerating processes
