After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand cities as pioneers of social change and as centres of cultural, political and economic change. They are informed about urban living space and the constantly occurring transformations that increasingly require the development of alternative and creative concepts beyond conventional planning and increasingly understand planning as a complex and dynamic development process.
The understanding of the city as a place of reproduction and production of social structures is developed in the context of new concepts and development models that are relevant to contemporary artistic utopias, strategies and projects and the associated forms of life and society.
