Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to actively promote strategies and projects, reflecting on decarbonization, e.g. in the housing stock in Vienna.

You will know and understand:

  • the importance of the increase of combustion of fossil fuels and the increase in CO2 emissions and its effect on climate change
  • the urgent need for massive CO2 emissions reduction
  • technical possibilities, in particular for building heating, cooling and hot water preparation with decentralized renewable energy sources

You can use the jointly developed methods to advance the process of converting the real estate industry to renewable energy sources. You will analyze the stakeholders, find allies and will motivate them. You will recognize second line legal regulations and make alternative suggestions.
 
You will be able:

  • to develop and evaluate suggestions for alternative technical-design and organizational solution strategies
  • to assess the technical, economic and legal feasibility

Teaching methods

The principles of constructivist didactics are applied in the course of the event; We enable you to gain experience, develop methods and skills for decarbonization, e.g. of the housing stock in Vienna.
