After successful completion of the course, students are able to grasp and analyse site-specific conditions in an urban context. The interpretation of these conditions serves as a basis for the development of strategies for future urban development.
Direct experience of urban design situations, is indispensable to teaching urban design. The excursions serve as a means to study closely particular settings on the ground. Trips have as their ultimate goal the development of skills in perception. They are meant to convey clearly to students a repertoire of possibilities for comparison and judgment. Preferable destinations are significant historical urban achievements, but also, locations, which exhibit contemporary tendencies in urban design.
