By experiencing directly and closely different urban settings, students would have the opportunity to develop their knowledge of urban phenomena, and to sharpen their sense of criticism. It would furthermore improve significantly their competence of solving current planning and design tasks.
Direct experience of urban design situations, is indispensable to teaching urban design. The excursions serve as a means to study closely particular settings on the ground. Trips have as their ultimate goal the development of skills in perception. They are meant to convey clearly to students a repertoire of possibilities for comparison and judgment. Preferable destinations are significant historical urban achievements, but also, locations, which exhibit contemporary tendencies in urban design.

The leadership in the government district is Dipl.Ing Nobert Steiner assume , has its time passed as chairman N.Ö Planungsgesellschaft which was responsible for planning and construction .
After seeing the government district we will look to Arch Podreca redesigned main square and then go back to Vienna .
Meeting on Friday 29 April at the latest 8 : 30h in the upper hall of the Westbahnhof .
