Teaching of strategy basics and logics of planning processes. Discussing aspects of the real estate economy, bottom-up mecanisms, migration tendencies and social dynamics should therefore provide knowledge on planned and unplanned urban development phenomena. Likewise, the content of this module should also support contemporary urban planning and design processes.

Within the field of conflict between planned and unplanned development, this module deals with important challenges of world-wide urbanisation processes. Apart from economic and demographic developments as well as theory-based foundations, this module particularly looks into the complexities of urban agglomeration growth processes and the problems of controlling these developments.

Die Methodenvielfalt (Ringvorlesung, Übung und Seminar) soll die Vermittlung von Grundlagenwissen sowie besonderen Fragestellungen gewährleisten. Weiters soll durch Projektdiskussionen und Analysen von konkreten Beispielen einen hohen Praxisbezug hergestellt werden. Ein bedeutender methodischer Ansatz ist schließlich die Bearbeitung der Modulinhalte aus der Sichtweise von unterschiedlichen Disziplinen aufgrund der breit gestreuten beruflichen Hintergründe der Vortragenden.
Leistungsnachweise: werden in Kooperation der einzelnen Vortragen aufeinander abgestimmt: Projekt- bzw. Seminararbeiten (Prüfung).
