Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to

  • understand and categorize differenc cultural influences on architecture in Indonesia.
  • derive differen aspects of Indonesian architecture
  • work in interdisciplinary and international teams
  • analyse framework conditions for planning and building in challenging circumstances

Subject of course

In a first step, students will be equipped with in-depth introduction to different basics. Subsequently, the complex nature of planning and building provesses in Indonesia will be explored under consideration of technical and socio-cultural aspects.

The modul is embedded in ongoing research activities at the TU Wien. Thus, lectures by experts of different backgrounds will be held, as well as the content and tasks will be based on a rich pool of already collected data and information. Utilizing state-of-the-art technolgies, students will work on concepts for building planning and conduct approaches toward (potential) realization of planned objects.
