Inhalt der Lehrveranstaltung

Theory and Coding

The course in WS2021 will be taught by Dr. Nikola Marincic, in collaboration with the Chair for Digital Architectonics at ETHZ.

Dr. Marincic research focuses on the relation between Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Architecture. His current ambition is to develop and promote a new kind of digital literacy suitable for architects and other non-engineers, that would allow them to redefine their fields in the context of challenges posed by machine intelligence. Main ideas of this work can be found in the book "Computational Models in Architecture: Towards Communication in CAAD," published by Birkhäuser in 2019.

you can find his research profile here.

Leistungsnachweis

Students are expected to write a text on one or more of the topics covered in the course. Although not necessary, students are encouraged to write using computational frameworks that implement notebooks, making it possible to integrate computer code and traditional writing. Such frameworks include Google Colaboratory or Wolfram Mathematica.
