Based on your previous occupation with facade design, we will formalize your designs such that the underlying rules become clear. We will use these rules in a second step when implementing (i.e. programming in a language such as NetLogo or using a parametric design tool such as Grasshopper).
A given facade is initially analyzed and formalized such that the underlying rules become visible. In a second step we will then learn to implement a generative tool based on these rules, using either a programming language or a parametric design tool. The course thus covers both aspects of algorithmical thinking and programming for architects.
Attendance + active participation in class + implementation in the form of a program.
We are happy if you have some experience in generative design / programming, however this is not mandatory as we will build up that knowledge in class.
