This year we will work together with teh Museum für Volkskunde in Vienna in order to develop a bright new future for this institution. Our goal is to come up with a new concept for a new understanding of the museum and to turn the museum into a space of communication, research, archive etc., while integrating its fabulous components:park, palais, depot ...

What is a museum today? What has shaped it? How does its history influence future development? How do physical form and institutions vary according to different typologies of museums and how are these  differences significant- if at all? How are museums changing and what is their fiuture?

This studio will explore these questions and try to find new solutions. By taking a precise example- the museum of Volkskunde in Vienna we will test our concepts by redesigning the existing institution.
