After successful completion of the course, students are able to design and calculate structural timber and timber hybrid constructions in consideration of all technical and standard based requirements.The students are also able to combine their structural skills with further technical knowledge to ensure the functional integrity of timber based structures.
The course consists of a lecture and an exercise part, drawn up independently by the students in homeworks. The computational methods neccessary for the exercise part will be explained during the lectures.

Since it is currently not predictable when classroom teaching will be possible again, TU Wien has decided as a precaution to extend Distance Learning until the end of the summer semester 2020 for all courses for which this is possible.
Exams
As soon as the Ministry's security measures allow the TU Wien to reopen its gates, examinations and courses for which on-site attendance is absolutely necessary can be held again. With the measure to extend Distance Learning until the end of the semester, we create the framework conditions to make this possible (free lecture hall capacities for examinations and block courses).
TU Wien is also evaluating Distance Learning examination methods and want to make them available as soon as possible.
