After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand principles existent in the natural world and to adapt them for their use in structural and construction systems in the frame of architectural projects.
Adaptations following the theory of evolution allow that the nature is able to developt and continuosly optimize its structures.
Many aspects from our environment can be used by human beings as example or inspiration for technical developments.
Depending on the objectives and/or use expected, many useful natural principles can be extracted, adapted and applied.
Different aspects of bionics, concepts and mechanisms and their use in built examples will be used for improving the comprehension of important design decisions in relation to structural systems. For this the analysis of an example will be carried out as an individual exercise. In order to complement and expand the gained knowledge, some complementary exercises will be offered ("Bionics" and/or "Cupola")
