After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

• develop an architectural design by considering context and background as well as specific aspects of the given design task, such as hierarchies of space, orientation, appropriateness, balance of nature and architecture, dimensions, human scale and proportions, construction and materials.
• understand architecture as an immersive spatial experience.

The task of the design course is to develop a cooperative housing project with three to ten small residential units, communal space and a public recreation area in a forest with caves and former quarries near Vienna.
