Nach positiver Absolvierung der Lehrveranstaltung sind Studierende in der Lage:

• alle relevanten Aspekte des Nachhaltigkeitskonzepts in Bezug auf Gebäude zu verstehen
• Konzepte in Bezug auf die Energieeffizienz von Gebäuden, die Materialauswahl, die Innenraumqualität und -regelung, sowie die Standortplanung zu entwickeln, um die Nachhaltigkeit von Gebäuden zu verbessern
• diese Konzepte mit Hilfe von Gebäud-Simulationswerkzeugen anzuwenden.

Relevant topics in regard to sustainability in buildings:

• environmental sustainability,
• energy efficiency,
• renewable energy,
• resource conservation,
• thermal comfort, health and wellbeing,
• climate based design and climate resilience
• urban sustainability,

The course will provide the relevant theory behind those concepts and explain tools and methods how they can be assessed.
