Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand and to apply the most important aspects of scientific work. These encompass important principles of referencing, following formal guidelines of papers and templates of conferences, journals, or master thesis, conducting background research via databases, repositories and other library catalogues and resources, understanding the differences between quantitative and qualitative research, as well as between fundamental and applied research, dataanalysis, identification of gaps in existing research, formulating of a hypothesis or of an objective, developing and formulating a method, finding a good form of result presentation, formulating of conclusions, etc. 

The ability to citate and reference - taking into account a provided style - is severely strengthened and will be of significant advantage for the forthcoming preparation of the Master Thesis proposal. Alongside, the retrieval of relevant literature - other than solely via google - will be reinforced.

  • Important Aspects of everyday's scientific practice will be utilized.
  • Different tools and methodical approaches are tested and evaluated.
