Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to fundamentally understand and rudimentary apply the basic concepts of (higher) mathematics that are required for Building Science.

This course provides an introduction to concepts in higher mathematics and statistics: numbers, counts, vector, matrices; mathematical induction, sequences and series, terms, differential calculus and integrals; basic concepts of statistics, distribution functions, combinatorics.

Moreover, students are enabled to understand basic concepts of the natural science physics, which are of importance to the Building Science and Technology Domain (including mechanics, thermodynamics, optics, acoustics).
