Learning of basic drawing (including life-drawing) and other visual skills: perspective sketch (as the simplest tool in the design- and presentation process) - understanding of the regularities of transference of spatial facts into a two-dimensional picture. Beyond the function of representation, the development and depiction of own spatial ideas are to be stimulated. Trying out the various possibilities of freehand drawing based on: the motive (abstraction) - the memory (reception) - the notion (imagination). Self-acting consideration of a heterogeneous spectrum of two-dimensional means and techniques of representation - methods of implementation relevant to architecture (selection, reduction, geometrical regularities) - subjectiv aspects (expression, personal handwriting)
Freehand representation by drawing and/or painting, life-drawing, implementation of concrete (spatial) facts in various visual languages, photography art-work, collage-project. Contents, that are to be treated practically and self-actingly, imparted theoretically and practically during the course on the spot are featured. By the series of lectures accompanying the courses (see TUWEL), theoretical and scientific relations relevant to the topics as well as exemplary art-specific relations and correlations are established. Lectures of artists offer a first possibility to become familiar with the manifold languages and forms of contemporary art.
This lecture for ordinary architecture-students (beginners with Studienkennzahl 033 243 only, a. o. students are not accepted)!

Coordination and contact: Daniel Chamier (chamier@tuwien.ac.at)
Introductory lecture will be announced before March
following lectures: see TUWEL "lecture tube")
Homework: Perspectives and lecture content are checked in weekly homework. Positive results are confirmed in the courses on mondays by a stamp.
Courses on Monday
As we are working on the spot, a continuous participation in the lecture and course is a precondition for a positive examination.
Figure Drawing: Every Wednesday evening, 8 pm - approx. 9:45 pm, an evening nude drawing takes place (presumably at "Aufbaulabor"). The visit of at least three of these dates is part of the course.
The ZVS course grade comprises individual grades for the following components: the drawing tutorial, the collage project, and the homework results. The drawing work, and collage must be handed in as a bound or spiralised drawing block. The homework tasks cover the contents of the lecture series and tutorials on perspective drawing. A positive grade for the ZVS course is only possible if all the individual grades are positive. A positive for the drawing tutorial requires regular attendance for the full duration of the tutorials. The whole semester (all parts) must be repeated if the drawing tutorial grade is negative. Failed collage, or homework components can be retaken up until the beginning of the next academic year (1st October). After this date, all positive grades are forfeit and the semester has to be repeated in its entirety.
The student must have at least 1 of the course(s) completed listed below:
