Introduction to academic work, discussion of methodical working approaches, assistance in structuring the topic to be dealt with, guidance in dealing with libraries, databases (literature searches) and archives. Small excursions are offered to accompany the course.

Students are required to prepare a short academic work on the basis of a topic focus changing each year from the field of the history of art and architecture. The seminar communicates approaches for the structuring of the work in terms of method and content. Each student is expected to present his topic within the framework of a short paper in the seminar.
