After successful completion of the course, students are able to ...

• basically use the repertoires steel constructions and the possible areas of application of steel structures.
• obtain the necessary knowledge in order to be able to develop and roughly dimension the structure and details of common steel constructions

Towards the end of semester, a simple project has to be developed. A special focus is laid on the choice of the structural system, dimensioning of the load bearing elements and details.

To avoid COVID-19 infections TU Wien has to take several safety precautions.

Since Monday, March 16, 2020 all exams (written and oral) are CANCELED.
Replacement dates will be announced as soon as a change in the overall situation is foreseeable.

Since it is currently not predictable when classroom teaching will be possible again, TU Wien has decided as a precaution to extend Distance Learning until the end of the summer semester 2020 for all courses for which this is possible.
