After successful completion of the course, students are able to formulate an urban and socially relevant position in the form of an architectural design with a concrete program. Based on a critical analysis of existing spatial and social conditions, students will be able to consider issues relevant to building construction and a resource-conserving planning approach as an integral part of the architectural concept.
Vienna is experiencing a continuous growth process that is accompanied by challenges such as overheating, land scarcity, water management and a need for sustainable urban development.
In this context, you will deal with the superstructure of a supermarket and hardware store and develop architectural solutions to make the city more liveable and more resilient to the effects of climate change. The focus is on the topics of overheating protection, green space integration, productivity, short distances and flexible constructions as well as issues relevant to building construction.
Discussion of the course content in project meetings. Independent processing of a design task. Elaboration of plans in all scales relevant to building construction or a spatial model
In coordination.
