After successful completion of the course, students are able to critically and project-specifically analyse different modern production and construction methods in timber construction, from the wood to the building and back.

Various aspects of the topic "Wood in the cycle" will be examined.
Modern timber construction requires an examination of the entire life cycle of the material:
this includes, among other things, sustainable forestry in the forest, felling the trees, transport to the sawmill, dividing the tree trunk into various products, further processing in workshops / large factories, use on the construction site, use in the building, as well as down- or recycling.

During the excursion, individual sections of this cycle will be visited and analysed.

The field trip is to be seen in the context of one "Design studio urban timber construction I".

Wir werden früh morgens in Wien mit dem Bus starten, Mittags wird es möglichkeiten geben sich in einem Nahversorger selbst zu versorgen, wir kommen am frühen Abend zurück.
Festes Schuhwerk (keine Stöckelschuhe) ist erforderlich.
