After successful completion of the course, students are able to...
to view the built environment with higher perceptual sensitivity to architectural aspects.
Students are going to prepare and analyze buildings on-site and will perceive buildings in the context of their creation, their socio-economic, urban and/or structural conditions and view them with a different, expanded perspective. In this way, a connection between theory and built reality can be established and architecture at the respective destination is better understood.
With its special approach to building, Belgium has developed into an interesting, multi-layered destination for current architectural discourse in recent decades. We will explore this as part of an excursion to contemporary architecture in Flanders with a focus on structurally challenging buildings. The excursion starts and ends in Brussels and will cover several cities like Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Oostende registration until dec 11th at the instituteaccomodation, guided or partially guided visits of architecture, guide bookCosts: approx. 390 EUR (reservation will only be confirmed after the money arrives)
