After successful completion of the course, students are able to find an independent architectural-constructive position for the design task. Questions and topics relevant to building construction such as accessibility, gender equality, 'save space' and climate-friendly construction are to be integrated into the design.
The 'Highline Vienna', in the area of Spittelau and continuing along Heiligenstätterstraße, has been discussed in the media for years. The Danube Canal as a green axis borders here directly on an urban zone - (waste incineration, infrastructure facilities, parking garages and commercial enterprises). Interventions along the 'Highline' should strengthen it as a local recreation area and car-free traffic axis. Near the station Spittelau are already two clubs which play an important role in the Viennese 'club culture'. The two locations should be complemented by a multifunctional hall for at least 500 people, greened, consumption-free recreation areas in the outdoor space and self-selected, additive uses.Alternatively, the Heiligenstätterstraße articulation point or a building site between Heiligenstätterstraße and the light rail can be chosen as a building site for the multifunctional hall. The focus of the design is on the structural implementation of the task. Topics such as accessibility, gender justice, 'save space' and climate-friendly construction are to be integrated into the design.
