A New SchwedenplatzA square for feet, wheels, rails, and waters + an Environmental Pavilion
The coexistence of several public transit stops, the Vienna-Bratislava ferry terminal, and the proximity to the Donau Canal make Schwedenplatz one of the crucial spots to look at when addressing the organization of public spaces in Vienna city center. The design of a new Schwedenplatz aims to keep together all these existing elements, rearticulating the relation with the canal and reinforcing the presence of pedestrians and bike circulation. The addition of an information center addressing environmental issues and urban habitat complements the design of the square.
Weekly reviews and collective presentations on Wednesday and Friday mornings.Design teams of two/three people are encouraged.
