After successful completion of the course, students are able to work on complex design tasks. The students are able to carry out independent research and collect topic-related basics. They are able to create design concepts and to comprehensively present them in the form of design and detail plans.

This is the format with which the magazine MappeLab has chosen to develop cultural projects in the Marche and Adriatic area.
It takes place every year, on the beach of Marzocca-Senigallia, one night in July, 12 hours, 6pm/6am; it is a project dedicated to art, architecture, design, made in Italy, performance, installation, cinema. Conceived and managed as a strategic project, it is supported by a complex infrastructure of public/private, local, national, international relations. It is conceived and curated by Cristiana Colli and Pippo Ciorra.

The subject of the course is the design and the realisation of the temporary space on the Adriatic coast that will host the 6th edition of Demanio Marittimo - Km 278 in July 2023 with a total budget of maximum € 40,000 + VAT. The project will include designated areas – talks, video, DJ set/bookshop area, tasting area, exhibitions and installations space – suitable to host the program of events on a sandy beach. This year invitation goes to TU Wien Institute for Architectural Design.

Winning project will be built by companies on site!

After a collective intensive phase with input lectures, the students will each develop a project proposal in group work, which will be discussed by an international jury in mid-May. The winning project will be realised on site by a (construction) company. The winning team will have the opportunity to supervise the execution.

The proof of completion is obtained through participation in the input phase and the accompanying meetings with the teachers, as well as the preparation of a project proposal in group work.
