Subject of course

The course Kritische Architekturpraxis / 'Critical Architectural Practice’ aims to address broader issues, impacts and responsibilities of architecture and architects within society and the planet at large.

This year, the course will outline its discourse through a series of public lectures and discussions, focusing on three main topics:

0. introduction to critical architectural practice

discussing the importance of ‘critical architectural practice’ as a term and as a way of thinking and working as well as outlining three focus topics of this year’s course: nanotourism, design emergency and critical design.

Lecture by Prof. Tina Gregorič and Jakob Travnik

1. nanotourism exploring the concept and work of the research platform nanotourism - a creative critique to the current environmental, social and economic downsides of conventional tourism, as a participatory, locally oriented, bottom-up alternative.
