After successful completion of the course, students are able to conceive, elaborate and present a coherent and visually meaningful artistic photographic work through research and interaction on site as well as critical examination of their own contributions and those of their colleagues.
In the workshop "On Site – Architecture and Photography," this semester, we are exploring places of change, existing structures, and transformation. Each student chooses a location to investigate throughout the duration of the workshop.
Being on-site and using the camera are our artistic and research tools. Through them, we learn from the location, document it, and tell a visual story about it, as well as allow it to tell us a story. What stories do these places tell? What do the users report? How do we visually capture this essence?
We critically examine what we want to convey and can convey, as well as how to represent it concretely. The results are continuously presented, reflected upon, and subsequently, a thematic focus is developed.
The outcome is a photographic work and a collective exhibition. The exhibition is conceptualized and organized by the group.
