After successful completion of the course, students are able to explain the basic principles and concepts of changeable spatial concepts and use them within the framework of an architectural design. They can construct simple furniture and are able to implement it technically on a 1:1 scale.
Spatial qualities and their effects on people are to be investigated through an in-depth analysis of the multi-layered meanings of spatial concepts. Furniture will be examined as space-creating objects and including the use of materials, colours and constructive details.
Typological investigation of optional architectural examples on the basis of reference projects. Demonstration of the positive effects on the usability of spaces and the spatial experience of users through the analysis of changeable spatial concepts.
To convey the relationship between a furniture design and the built object by creating drawings of the work.
The VU is held in blocks. Participation in the individual lectures is therefore mandatory in order to complete the course.
Obligatory participation in all lectures, written elaborationes of questions that are asked during the lectures are considered as preparation for the exam. The exam is treated as a furniture design based on the creation of working drawings. Hand in as A3 folder in PDF format.
