After successful completion of the course, students are able to develop their own architectural position and to take into account the constructional interrogation in building design as an integral part of their architectural concept.
Architectural design and structural engineering project development in all scales. Spatial representation of the building structure. Elaboration of a technical concept, the basics of plan representation.

The simultaneous elaboration of the aspects of architecture, statics and building construction within an architectural design from the typological conception, urban context to constructive and structural details

Based on the development of innovative structures, structural design and details, a complex building task is elaborated. In addition to the structural and architectural design and taking into account the aspects of prefabrication and building feasibility, it is important to design a coherent energy and building technology concept as well as a resource-saving project.

Discussion of the course content in project reviews, accompanying lectures. Independent development of a design task. Elaboration of plans - in all scales relevant to the design of building construction and the elaboration of a spatial model.

Review of the achievements made during the course throughout the semester in regular project meetings, partial submissions and concept, interim and final presentations.

Based on a requirement from the Dean of Studies (‘Studiendekan’) a 2-step registration process must be carried out:

1st step:
July 10th  -  Aug. 13th  
Pre-registration for VU Hochbau 2-  without allocation to a group

2nd step:
Sept. 17th  -  Sept. 22nd
Registration for a group (supervisor + day of the week)

For valid participation in the course, both registration steps must be completed.

Students who do not register for a group in the second registration step will be registered for an available group by the FOB after Sept. 20th
