Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to design an extension of the 1970s International Students Dormitory BASE19, designed by Fred Freyler, located in the 19th district of Vienna, Gymnasiumstrasse 85, on the site of the former Kuffner Villa on the edge of the Cottage district.

BASE19 with over 500 rooms is currently Vienna's largest non-profit student residence. The constantly increasing demand for living space for students gives reason to think about a possible expansion on an area along Peter-Jordan-Straße.
