After successful completion of the course, students are able to reflect on the meaning of visual worlds and the influence of images on society, planning and what is actually built. The representation of architecture and the own image production are the focus of the workshop.

The workshop deals with the representation of housing: How is housing represented, how do we show housing, what are the intentions and wishes of the representation of housing?
Due to the medialization of space in the last 15 years, we are confronted with a flood of constantly transforming images. What significance do these images have and what influence do they have on our understanding of housing, on the housing market and on the planning?

The field of investigation is Viennese: different desires, wishes and markets evoke different images of housing. Advertising subjects of Vienna's housing policy represent a different understanding of housing than the visual worlds of Airbnb and Instagram. Housing ads of an investor have different intentions than pictures in magazines. The examination of different media and actors of image production are part of the workshop.

The image in architecture can also be understood as a narrative that can contain possibilities, future developments or entire manifestos. These "real imaginations" reveal other concepts of new living, working and the city, the students are encouraged to experiment with images and produce untold stories of  "real imagniations".

The workshop "Diskursraum Wohnbau Wien I: Representation of Housing" deals on the one hand with image analysis and the meaning of images, and on the other hand with our own image production.

Wir starten am 20.4 mit der Einführung in den Wohnbau Workshop als Online Vorlesung mit Anwesenheit von euch. Danach wird es ca. 2 Besprechungstermine (online) geben, die Abgabe ist am 8.6.

ANMELDUNG:
Der Workshop wird am 4.3. um 11:00 im EI 10 bei der Modulvorstellung vorgestellt.
Eine Anmeldung zum Workshop ist vom 4.3. - 9.3. via Mail an krejs@wohnbau.tuwien.ac.at möglich.
Zusätzlich zu Name und Matrikelnummer, soll auch ein Portfolioblatt A3 (Format pdf oder jpg.) mitgeschickt werden.
Die Teilnahme am Workshop ist auf 20 Teilnehemer*innen beschränkt.
Eine Benachrichtigung über die Aufnahme in den Workshop wird am 10.3 ausgeschickt.

Der Workshop "Diskursraum Wohnbau Wien I“ ist Teil  des Forschungsprojekts "Diskursraum Wohnbau Wien – Positionen zwischen Gemeinwohl und Wohlstand /Wiens Wohnbaupolitik im Kontext Europas" in Kooperation mit ARCH+.
Weitere vertiefende LVAs sind der Workshop "Diskursraum Wohnbau Wien" 2 – Wohnbiografien“ und das kleine entwerfen „Diskursraum Wohnbau Wien“ bei Christina Lenart.

Eigenständig oder in Gruppen wird eine Bildserie entwickelt.
