After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand architecture and space, to analyse locations with regard to their spatial qualities, to ascertain parameters of design and drafting and to derive findings for their own design work.
The content of this course is the analytical preparation and the visit of a specific selection of places that are characterised by a special relationship between architecture and space. The confrontation with cultural attitudes and especially with unfamiliar perspectives on architectural space will be practised in the excursion in order to be able to analyse, document and evaluate spaces in their architectural quality.The focus of this semester is on building methods in clay, brick, stone, concrete and wood in their massive form.Selected works are viewed, documented and presented virtually.

Subject: Excursion Kunst:Raum
Visits and interviews on site, analysis and documentation of the tour and the interviews.
Students applied for Entwerfen RG und Modul Kunst:Raum are prefered.
The excursion is carried out in small groups of 3-5 people. The presentation of the tour and the discussion about the project take place on Zoom.
If, due to the requirements of the Federal Government or the TU Wien, it becomes impossible to hold the class, the examination, and/or the class meetings on site, the class will move online. If this happens, the announced dates for the class lectures and examinations (part performances) may change. If the class moves online, the following methods and modes will apply:

Exam mode when moving online:
Evaluation will be continuous even if the class moves online. The final presentation will be carried out on Zoom. Student work will be submitted in both analogue and digital form.
Assessment model for the online exam: both analogue and digital submissions and presentations will be assessed.
Required technical equipment for participation in the course and examination: stable internet access, Zoom or GoToMeeting.
