After successful completion of the course, students are able to describe a research topic and work on it independently as part of their diploma thesis. The students learn to structure the shape of a thesis, to create a timetable and to work through a draft from the concept to the draft, to propose detailed solutions and to document the work comprehensively and to present it in bound form as well as verbally.

Daylight in Space

Seminar for Diploma/PhD Candidates, Interior Design

The collective diploma will be offered for the first time in the summer semester with the focus on “Daylight in Space”. The seminar takes place every two weeks and guides you through the structure, research and preparation of the thesis. At the same time, individual care takes place by appointment.

The diploma seminar focuses on the topic of daylight in rooms. Selected studios, archives and exhibition rooms are analyzed and documented. They are places of production, but also the starting point for artistic debate. Different positions, benefits and objectives are applied based on a design. The choice of location, the subsequent use of existing buildings and aspects of monument protection will be an integral part of the work. In the seminar, topic identification, research, analysis, limitation of the topic, structure of the work, design support, detailed elaboration, schedule and presentation support are dealt with.
