Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to design and conduct a qualitative- research design for a small project in the realm the research in the built environment and to conduct research. . Furthermore, the students gain basic methodological knowledge for working with scientific text and are able to present reflect and discuss their results. 

Subject of course

This semester, the Peer Review Colloquium will focus on socurces and archive. 

How to use sources? what is considered a reliable source? And how do we meneuver in archives? The course provides basic knowledge in using source material, eg. the examination, under which circumstances a reliable source is formed and produced, about the motives of its existence, the examination of reliability of source material and also possible strategies how to read and interprete these source materials. 

Teaching methods

Participants will conduct archival research based on a research question that we will develop beforehand.
