Aim of course

Objective is to enable the students to identify the problems and potentials of concrete situations to derive pioneering planning issues and to answer these questions by means of contemporary urbanism. Urban development shall learn the basis of current tasks as a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach. Design challenge including its social, economic, environmental and procedural implications. Adequate analysis, planning and presentation methods are an essential tools.

 

Subject of course

An essential course content is the confrontation with situations in urban areas, urban peripheries or in rural areas. The design includes a critical analysis of the stock, the discussion of general urban planning guidelines, the design of site-specific development strategies, the development of urban designs, as well as their visualization and presentation. The planning debate of the scales of regional and urban planning on the issues of typologies extends to the urban design detail.

Important: This course in English is only reserved for students who participate the exchange programms in Asia
