Designing a "model" - railway-station
In the south of Vienna, a new high-speed line will be built, which will connect the residential areas there very well at Vienna. Because the new route between the two towns Ebreichsdorf and sub-Waltersdorf performs, the existing station, a new station can no longer be used and has to be built, which are used for both communities and as identity-creating cue (Landmark) on the one hand and as can act "link" between the two communities on the other, and should (creative-constructive requirement).
Planning a "model" development around a "focal point" as the nucleus
The new station may be beyond the focal point and (new) center / nucleus of a multiphase development scenarios, as with probability in the medium around the station and along the access routes growth will occur - economic and architectural growth. Growth could "smart" and are performed according to all criteria of the Smart City, that Density controlled etc. considered.
to Consider moreover how - could develop a "model village" along the connection between the two center to the station - if necessary. The pilot schemes should follow the viable and sustainable criteria, that is, the need for green space, sufficient density required privacy unite. Here, the area around the station serve as a communication zone, and the individual housing needs can be applied narrowly.
The results will be exhibited at the Passive House Conference 2017 in Vienna.
The participation of the congress will be free of costs for the participants of the design studio.
The intention is, that several universities from Austria, Germany, Switzerland and South Tyrol participate. The competitions will be organized by each country seperately, the results will be shown together at the 21st Passivhaustagung in Viennna in April 2017.
Specifics:
Design-PH: As part of the exercise training for the new simulation tool design Ph takes place. The training is free of charge carried out jointly with the Passivhaus Austria.
Excursion to Ebreichsdorf and disdussions with members of the city of Ebreichsdorf
Cooperation with Architect Ostertag, who has realized several winning stations with ÖBB.
