Innovation in architecture isn't a question of creativity, but the result of open design processes. Planungsmethoden Übungen will give an overview over different aspects of design processes and show how open design processes may be structured and applied in design.

Whereas the lecture series Allgemeine Gebäudelehre und Planungsmethoden discusses the essential categories of building typologies and their implication on design methods, Planungsmethoden Übungen will analyze open design processes as a strategic method in design. Keynote lectures and readings will discuss different aspects of design processes, whereas in workshops, concrete projects will invite students to analyze, evaluate and experiment with the design processes behind.

The assessment is based on the quality of the submitted work as well as on the quality of the personal participation in the discourse during the course.
