Properties

  • Semester hours: 2.0
  • Credits: 2.0
  • Type: VO Lecture

Aim of course

Building Information Management of complex architectural projects:

  • getting to know the integrale and iterative processes and workflows in architectural planning and within the life cycle of a building.
  • analysis of influencing parameters, simulation and design (fine shaping) of the iterative and integrale processes within the life cycle – from draft to demolition – of a building.
  • coordination of the project team: tasks, interfaces, interactions.
  • quality management: performance (quantity + quality), dates and costs.

Subject of course

Building Information Management [„BIMan“] and iterative and integral architectural planning:

  • Critical evaluation of the construction task: goals, setting (urban development, landscape, climate, culture), building regulations, room and function programme, qualities, schedule and budget,
  • preliminary draft: function and form, energy and resource cycle,
  • draft and element calculation,
  • implementation and detailed planning vs. factory planning,
  • quality control: performance (quantity + quality), dates, costs,
  • project modifications,
  • release modes.

Building Information Modeling [BIM]:

  • State of the art, possibilities and limitations in the context of architectural planning,
  • application of BIM – from architectural draft to the facility management of a building,
  • the „digital construction file“,
  • future prospects of BIM software and standardisation,
  • questions on BIM: what do we expect from BIM?
