Aim of course

Planning process, building design und building typologies ultimately depend on each other. Therefore the introduction of contemporary building typologies and functional programming is paralleled by a fundamental discussion of design methods and planning processes.

Subject of course

The main contemporary building typologies are discussed compared and analyzed in short design exercises. The logic of function and usability in architecture is further developed to a broader based functional research. Based on the knowledge of contemporary building concepts and its limits progressive planning methods are introduced and integrated into an progressive planning process.
