After successful completion of the course, students are able to write an academic paper (diploma thesis or dissertation) on a topic chosen by themselves by continuous provision of necessary monitoring and support. Students are able to do research on relevant literature, to evaluate this literature, and are qualified to bring up their own result for discussion in the scientific community.
An independently chosen topic is analysed, structured and discussed at the previously fixed dates. These dates will be determined according to demand. The students will be instructed to question critically their ideas. Ways of conveying and presenting are explored on the basis of the chosen topic. Consideration of topic-relevant literature.
Students will be supported in framing a problem and question respectively in detailed discussions. The problem will then be addressed split into manageable subtasks. Students will be offered examples and asked to contribute own examples in order to be investigated into their exemplariness to reflect the own ideas. Literature research, literature study, and a critical analysis of academic works are intended as foundation to contextualize own ideas and to check them critically. Students present the degree of progress in intervals determined by themselves.
