On the basis of various light designing philosophies, the course shows the way light influences space. The objective consists in sensitizing in the period of conception on behalf of implementing artificial and natural light. Light becomes a device as for designing space by implementing light openings and light systems the right way. The objective of the course is to see and understand light in the space.
Daylighting: Introduction to daylight planning, effectiveness of skylights and fenestration, difference between solar shading and glare reduction
Light and Color: A n excerpt from lessons in lighting (emphasis on LED)
Light Basics: application-oriented
Retail/Shop Lighting: A virtual walk through the lighting of the Kärtnerstrasse; Corporate architecture and corporate lighting in retail; what determines a recognizable brand?
Museum Lighting: Overview of recently built museums where is museum development heading? Combination of daylight and artificial lighting, conservational issues, possible luminaires
Office Lighting: Choices in color of light; Circadian lighting controls dynamic and diurnal changes in lighting levels; Possible luminaires advantages and disadvantages
