After successful completion of the course, students are able to effect both the planing of the design and of details when creating new functions and adaptive re-use programmes for protected monuments.
The aims of the design course concentrate on the adaptive re-use of listed monuments, especially of industrial monuments like historic factory buildings, workshops, industrial plants or habitations of the working class.
The design course offered in the summer term entitled "City Factories" will deal with a typical Viennese back yard factory, enclouserd by house buildings along the Margaretenstraße, Krongasse, Mittersteig and Straußengasse situated in the fifth municipal district.

Sollte aufgrund von Vorgaben der Bundesregierung bzw. der TU Wien die Abhaltung der Lehrveranstaltung und der Prüfung bzw. der Teilleistungen in Präsenz nicht möglich sein, wird in das online-Format gewechselt. Durch den Wechsel in das online-Format können sich die für die Präsenzlehrveranstaltung und -prüfung (-teilleistungen) angekündigten Termine ändern. Die wöchentlichen Zusammenkünfte für Besprechungen, Korrekturen und Diskussionen erfolgen im Rahmen von Zoom-Meetings.
Prüfungsmodus bei Wechsel ins online-Format:
Die Abgabe der schriftlichen / zeichnerisch-gestalterischen Arbeit erfolgt durch Hinterlegung am Institut. Die Präsentation wird im Rahmen eines Zoom-Meetings erfolgen.
