After successful completion of the course, students are able to effect both the planing of the design and of details when creating new functions and adaptive re-use programmes for protected monuments.
The aims of the design course concentrate on the adaptive re-use of listed monuments, especially of industrial monuments like historic factory buildings, workshops, industrial plants or habitations of the working class.
During the sommer term we'll deal with the re-use of the historical building structure of the rail construction enterprise REMARUL "16. Februarie" in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) which has been founded in 1870. We also must find solutions for future urban planning concepts on the brownfields of the huge factory district.
