Sharpening of understanding the experienced and efficient handling of scientific questions as the basis of a written and oral presentation with thematic focus on architectural history and construction. Current lectures by international experts will be analyzed, discussed and interpreted. The students find a topic of their choice in the context of architectural history and deepen this in a scientific context. At the end of the course, the students present their respective scientific work in the form of a lecture and a paper in a publishable form.
Scientific work requires sophisticated methods of presentation, adapted to the specific problem. The students propose certain issues in the course, which will be discussed in general with all participants and supervised individually. Additionally during the semester, evening lectures with detailed discussions will be held by external experts. After the lectures in the lecture hall, the students have the possibility to talk with the experts at the institute, thus coming in contact with internationally renowned scientists and actively get engaged in discussions.
