After successful completion of the course, students are able to impart basic knowledge in the fields of industrial monument preservation and of research on industrial culture structures, in particular about history and scientific research methods on industrial archaeology as well as about strategies by dealing with the care for our industrial heritage.
The history of industrial revolution, the history of industrial monument preservation in Austria and in several European countries, the development of industrial archaeology to be established as a scientific field; definition of terms like 'technical monument' or 'industrial heritage' as well as 'industrial landscape'.
Lectures and reference to specific scientific literature. Should the occasion arise more detailed processing and discussion.
